Starting To Make A Difference….
March 8th, 2010 Posted in judge judy inspiresAs you know, the Goal Bands Game was developed, and first tested, during my 2 1/2 years spent volunteering in Guyana, S.A. and drew heavily from my own experience’s there.
But that is not the whole story and I must give further credit to my father, Leonard Mentzer, a Berkely and Columbia grad who ended up heading NYC Tort Division for close to 20 years and under 3 mayors. The secret to his success, more or less, was in breaking his larger life goals into “bite” sized portions and then working on them, methodically and deliberately, until he had met his ultimate objectives. This basic tenet, simplify and exemplify, is a key ingredient which I sought to capture with the Goal Bands Game.
Also, I must credit my brothers’ mother inlaw with further inspiring my innovation. She is Judy Sheindlin or, as known more popularly to her many fans, TV’s Judge Judy . I have seen her enough to know that the average Judyism’s, if I can call it that, are nothing more than a good old fashioned admonition to seek self-truth and discipline for motivation to a better life and that is exactly what the Goal Bands Game bring’s to those whom use it.
